This is when everyone is equal and has the same rules and rights as one and other for example, in a school all pupils should have to abide by the same rules and have the same rights as one another so everyone is equal.
This is when all children are given equal opportunity regardless of their age or learning ability.
Describe the potential effects of discrimination:
Discrimination is based on prejudice assumptions of group characteristics rather than an individual judgement. This may cause peoples feelings to be affected and give them a low self-esteem, which will cause them to have very little confidence and self-worth.
Inclusion practice promotes equality because it is to give all children equal opportunity, which relates to and promotes equality, inclusion also supports diversity because inclusion is to give equal opportunity and this is regardless of what race, culture, background or religion a child belong to.
Legislation and codes of practice relates to equality, diversity and discrimination because it promotes equal opportunity also equal rights regardless of race, religion, culture or background. This applies to my work role because it is my duty to promote equality when taking care and working with the children so that they all feel equal and valued in the nursery setting.
In my work setting I always make sure that I give all children equal opportunity and the same rights as each other by allowing them to all have free play and take part in all the same activities as each other also applying the same rules to each child.
When supporting others in promoting equality and rights it should be explained that it is important to treat all children the same and as equal as one and other also to allow all children to have access to the same rights, this is so that they all feel equal and valued.
